OL DJ Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 May 2026

OL DJ turns your own Apple Music playlists into a personal radio station with an AI DJ. It is built to keep your data on your device. This policy describes the very limited data the app handles.

Data we collect

None. OL DJ does not collect, transmit, or upload any personal information, listening history, music library contents, voice recordings, device identifiers, contacts, location, crash reports, or analytics. There are no accounts and no tracking. We never see what you listen to.

Apple Music

With your permission, OL DJ reads your Apple Music library and playlists through Apple's MusicKit framework and plays songs on your device. This access is read-only and handled entirely by Apple on your device — your library is never sent to us or to any third party. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Media & Apple Music.

The AI DJ

Spoken DJ links are produced on your device. The app picks from a bundled bank of templates filled with the names of your own songs and the current time, and — on supported devices — may generate occasional lines using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. This text generation runs locally; your music and listening context are not sent anywhere for it. Speech is synthesised on-device with Apple's AVSpeechSynthesizer.

News headlines

To read the news on-air, OL DJ fetches public headlines from a third-party news RSS feed (by default the BBC World news feed) over a standard network request. This request contains no personal data and no information about you or your music — it simply retrieves the public, already-published headlines. No identifiers are sent.

Where your data lives

Third parties

OL DJ integrates no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash reporting. It uses Apple's standard frameworks (MusicKit, AVFoundation, MediaPlayer, Foundation Models) which run locally, plus a plain network request to a public news feed as described above.

Children

OL DJ does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13, because it does not collect data from anyone at all.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here and take effect on the date listed at the top.
