How do I grant Explore access to a folder?
Click the folder in the sidebar. If it's locked (grey with a padlock), macOS will ask you to confirm access. Approve it once and Explore remembers that folder plus everything inside it forever.
Why can't I see /Users/other_user/?
Explore only has access to directories you've granted. Your Downloads folder is pre-approved. Everything else needs a one-time grant via the standard macOS Open dialog — click any greyed-out folder in the sidebar to start the grant flow.
How do I open a folder from Terminal?
Run explore ~/path/to/folder — Explore's bundled explore command-line helper opens the path in a new window. (Install via File → Install Command-Line Tool, or manually drop explore from the app bundle into your $PATH.)
Where are my thumbnails cached?
~/Library/Caches/com.darrenoakey.Explore. Safe to delete; Explore will rebuild on demand.
